In my opinion I would blame Gilgamesh for the death of Enkidu. Gilgamesh basically brought his life to risk and baited him. If Gilgamesh never brought the killing of Humbaba then the Gods wouldn't have to chose between Gilgamesh and Enkidu. In the text it says, "Has your strength left you, Enkidu?" Gilgamesh was asking Enkidu if he was brave and strong enough to face Humbaba, luring Enkidu to the battle and his death.

HOMEWORK The two characters are similar and different in ways.  Enkidu is polite, brave and fragile and Gilgamesh  is Big headed, selfish and dominant.  Enkidu and  Gilgamesh are both dominant and energetic but they differ in personalities."
